43 veterans of Israel’s most elite military intelligence unit have refused to continue serving as “tools in deepening the military control over the Occupied Territories”
The soldiers say they have a moral duty to act as the system involves the use of intelligence for “political persecution” and “to create divisions within Palestinian society by recruiting collaborators and driving parts of Palestinian society against itself”.
Some soldiers say the unit targets for blackmail Palestinians who are homosexual or who need medical treatment.
